Hello everyone,
These are the minutes of the Sixteenth get-together of the organization.!
AGENDA
-Organisational Update
-Team Updates
-New Projects Proposals
-Miscellaneous
A) ORGANISATIONAL UPDATE
- Proposal that membership to Revive Bombay be given after applicants
attend a meeting. After debating on this, this proposal was withdrawn.
- However it was agreed that attendance of atleast 4 meetings in a year
was required.
- Salil Chatturvedi, member and Director of Provogue has offered the
Provogue Lounge for RBT events.
- Creation of the Events & Fundraising committee. It was seen that teams
should focus on their project and along with the Events committee,
coordinate events to raise awareness and funds. This committee needs
volunteers.
- We are still looking for a secretary!
B) TEAM UPDATES
(To get involved with any of these projects, kindly contact the team
leaders on their email address mentioned below)
Pet-a-tree
Heritage Statues
Bollywood Walk of Fame
NGO AGM
Accessibility for Individual with Disabilities (A.I.D)
Cafe Revive
Future of Roads (F.O.R)
Adopt-a-Child & Magic Bus
1) Pet-a-tree: (NEED MEMBERS)
Team leader : Rishi Tejuja - rishitejuja@utisel.com
- We are still in permissions! We have written to AIAI to allow us to
plant the trees on Mahim. They have been given the permission from the BMC
to beautify areas like these. We also will be writing to Mahanagar Gas to
get their gas pipeline laying map so that we donĘt break their gasline.
- The quotation given to us was over our budget. A suggestion to take out
the iron grille to bring down our costs and put bamboo. On top of the tree,
we can put the Revive plate.
- We can reduce cost by digging the pits ourselves. Lets get some more
quotations.
2) Heritage Statues: (MEMBERSHIP CLOSED. AWAITING PERMISSIONS.) Team
leader : Hemanth Meka Rao - hemanth@hemanth.net
- The Municipal Corporation has sent letters to the Secretary of Cultural
Affairs and the Secretary of the Public Works Department regarding these
statues, to get their okay for repossession. We will be following up with
these departments.
3) Bollywood Walk of Fame: (MEMBERSHIP CLOSED. AWAITING PERMISSIONS.) Team
leader : Hemanth Meka Rao - hemanth@hemanth.net -New MSRDC MD, Lakhina.
- Mr. Lakhina from MSRDC is very positive towards it. However, he needs a
very concrete proposal along with a demonstration. This should be ready in
about 1 months time.
- The project itself will need about 1.5 to 2 crores of rupees to
complete. There is a huge fund-raising issue since Mr. Lakhina does not seem
willing to give sponsors advertising space. We will have to look for other
avenues.
- Aseem had an interesting idea of asking producers to pay for the star's
dedication. And the stars pay by giving a free performance such as
performing on the day of his/her dedication of his star.
- Sponsors can sponsor on the day of the dedication. Give the option to
the star to donate to RBT - on stage!
4) Accessibility for Individuals with Disabilities (A.I.D):(NEED MEMBERS)
Team leader : Manish Maker - manish.maker@makers.co.in
-No update.
5) Cafe Revive: (MEMBERSHIP CLOSED. AWAITING PERMISSIONS) Team leader : Hemanth Meka Rao - hemanth@hemanth.net
- Our NGMA proposal is being considered with three other proposals. Our
chances are fair.
- AD Singh has suggested two other locations which we are looking into.
6) Future of Roads (F.O.R) (NEED MEMBERS)
Team leader : Hem Tejuja - htejuja@hotmail.com
- We would like FOR to become a nodal agency for all BMC road-related
complaints. We have spoken to Puran about it and will be writing to the
BMC/MC and Puran to make this happen. This means that all complaints will be
sent to RBT instead of the BMC, and we will follow up with the authorities
to get them fixed, after creating a database of these complaints. This will
also help us monitor areas where repeat repairs are constantly happening.
7) Adopt-a-Child & Magic Bus (NEED MEMBERS)
Team leader : Sohan Shah - drsohan@indiatimes.com
- Had trip slated to Magic Bus's Igatpuri camp. But we didnĘt have enough
people. So we have rescheduled to sometime August.
C) MISCELLANEOUS
